May 10 2011. ISSM Meeting.
Agenda:
- Eric Rignot, present ISSM framework, put into context.
- Goals and strategy
- long term
- this year
- ISSM expansion:
- GIA
- Planetary
- Rifting?
- SeaRISE?
- Distribution of roles
- Nicole: Ice/Ocean with Eric L. Calving face melting parameterization using Yun's results + Michael's runs on Antarctica.
- Behnaz: basal hydrology.
- Helene: thermal improvements? 2D/3D coupling?
- Mathieu: dataset assimilation?
- Eric: ice/ocean interaction. IceBridge dataset campaign with respect to OUR needs.
- Michael: improve transient melting rates agreement with InSAR generated melting rates, over Antarctica. Target Antarctica mainly and show convergence of Ecco with remote sensing estimates.
- Daria: basal drag transient law, large scale capable.
- Ala: laser altimetry-> in house thickness (ice shelves) and elevation (ice sheets) changes. validation of ISSM through thickness changes.
- ISSM tutorial:
- User guide
- Developers's guide
Bullet points:
-Tom Newmann currently carrying out temperature measurements. If we have a thermal-cryowarming of the ice sheet model, we can contact him and drive some of his requirements.
