Debugging and extract equation before compiling about detailed system

Hello, first of all, I am a beginner of this ice-sheet-dynamics and system and heavy tool with a lot of library and packages within a team.
I want to know the detailed equations in running.
I check the manual, there is only debugging about memory seg. fault with Valgrind.
But I want to know about the governed equation and its position of files.
But I suppose that the core part of the calculation is already compiled to unreadable files.
And also ISSM uses many external packages.
Many parts of the system already can be checked in md; model, but it is not sufficient for me. So I want to know more detailed information.

kimyoungjin06 I think your best bet is to start by going through some of the tutorials. More to the point, in some cases computation is done at the scripting level, in which case you can directly inspect the MATLAB or Python script to see how a given value is being computed. Otherwise, both the MATLAB and Python interfaces should reveal to some extent which features of the underlying C++ code are being called. Then, you can use grep (or some such tool) to search the $ISSM_DIR/src/c/ directory for matching terms. Note that function names may not be exactly the same, so it may be a good idea to try different patterns and flags if you do not find what you are looking for right away.
