Hi folks:
I have a quick query about boundary conditions along the ice-front. I specify Dirichlet boundary conditions along my inflow boundaries upstream. All good. My ice-front has some portions that are floating and some portions that are grounded, where the ice-base is above sea level.
I use SetMarineIceSheet()
and specify the entire ice-front, which generates an md.mask.ice_levelset
which is -1 everywhere, except along the entire ice-front where it is 0. This sets Neumann BCs along the entire ice-front.
Does ISSM check whether the ice-front is below sea level and apply water pressure in these areas and not in other areas, or do I need to adjust my md.mask.ice_levelset
(or other) in regions where I have grounded ice with the ice-base above sea-level where no water pressure is expected?
I saw this post here, but I think my setup is a little different because I am accounting for floating ice etc. I just want to confirm that my BCs and md.mask.ice_levelset
with the 0 values along the entire ice-front is correct.
Thanks!
Lawrence
