SaiSan Hi all, Do you have a recommended value for min_thickness, in the case of continental ice-sheets and glaciers? What would this value influence? Thanks a lot and happy new year! Sai
mathieumorlighem Hello @SaiSan the stress balance solver would blow up if the ice thickness is 0. So you want: min_thickness to be small enough so that we do not introduce too much "fake" ice mass min_thickness should be large enough to avoid conditioning problem of the stiffness matrix. In general I recommend 1 m or so. All the best Mathieu
SaiSan mathieumorlighem Thank you for the answers. Additionally, do I need to set stressbalance.spcvz for the base layer to ensure no ice mass penetrates the ground, or shall I just leave it with NaN?
