Empty outbin

I'm trying to reach steady state conditions and have a series of _20gb '.outbin' files corresponding to three daily model runs for 15,000 days. After using md = loadresultsfromdisk(md, examplefile.outbin) the md.results structure appears empty. Both outlog and errlog files seem fine. Is there an upper limit on the number of columns this tool can parse? No error messages are given, and longer duration runs where the timestep is also longer all load fine.

sorry to hear that, it does not sound right. We have never had any problems with it, so I suspect the path you are providing to loadresultsfromdisk may be wrong, or the file is corrupted... Are you using MATLAB or python? We can continue this conversation by email/Zoom (mathieu.morlighem@dartmouth.edu).

Hi Mathieu,

The files were added to my Matlab path, so I assumed I could just run loadresultsfromdisk from any location within my modelling directory. However, as you suggested I have just tried the tool from within the specific sub-directory containing the results and everything worked fine! Thanks for your quick response.

Cool! Yes loadresultsfromdisk is a bit dumb, you have to give it the complete path. But you should have seen a warning saying that the file was not found? Anyway, glad you figured it out.
